Olay Regenerist Review #1

“Tightens and has a slightly firming effect.”

The concept of the Olay Regenerist Serum

I’ve been looking for an inexpensive anti-ageing product and that is how I found the Olay Regenerist Serum. Since I own an electric facial cleansing brush by Olay, which is labelled the same, I did know the ‘Olay Regenerist’ line and name. Being really satisfied with this electric facial brush up until now, I thought that I should give the Regenerist Serum a try, too.

The manufacturer’s describes it as a product that should make the skin in your facial, neck and cleavage area firm. After that follows a more careful part of the description: “helps to reduce signs of small lines and wrinkles”. So the manufacturer doesn’t really promise a wonder and focuses mainly on the moisturizing effect of this skin care product.

That was also one aspect I found quite positive and pleasant of the Olay Regenerist Serum – I just don’t like fancy promises about everything the product can do since most of the time these promises aren’t even kept. You just pay a fortune for some miracle cure, which in most cases doesn’t even do anything.

As for my skin, it is rather on the drier side. I don’t have a lot of wrinkles but there are some visible ones. So I was quite curious to see how well the Regenerist Serum does.

Consistency and effect of the Olay Regenerist Serum

The texture of the serum is transparent and its scent pleasantly light. Its colour is a light beige but you don’t really see that on the skin. Since it does have a pump dispenser it is possible to use it sparsely. It is so easy: You lightly massage it onto the aforementioned areas (face, neck, cleavage) and it gets absorbed into the skin pretty fast and well.

One thing you will notice immediately is the moisturizing effect. Your skin feels fresher without the serum weighing it down or having any other negative effect on it. No sticky or even greasy kind of feeling is left.

I can totally attest to the moisturizing effect of the Olay Regenerist Serum after only two weeks of use. And no wonder though since this nourishing serum contains hyaluronic acid which has a really strong moisture-binding function.

If you want a great option under your day cream, the Regenerist Serum is simply that for you because it has a slightly sealing effect, so that your skin is prepared for and protected from the coming daily challenges. After only four weeks of application my complexion has already cleared up a bit because of the moisturizing effect – dryness wrinkles and smaller irritated areas have visibly reduced.

Conclusion

Because of my experience with the Olay Regenerist Serum, I can honestly say that this product is rather a moisturizer instead of a wrinkle reducer. Moisturizing is really it’s forte – giving you a fresh appearance through its hydrating complex.

Looking at the reduction of wrinkles through, I have to say that you shouldn’t have high hopes for this product. In my case – after four weeks of use – I really haven’t seen any significant difference.

The cost-benefit ratio for the Olay Regenerist Serum is because of its properties rather okay. For a high-end anti-ageing cream (for example this one with retinol) you would clearly have to pay more than that. That is why I will also keep trying other Olay skin care products in the near future.
